Wayang Golek Rod Puppet
These old Wayang golek rod puppets, are three dimensional wood and cloth puppets. These puppets have been used in many traditional puppet performances in Java. The wayang golek puppet consists of a carved and painted head that fits into a trunk with jointed arms manipulated by the dalang, puppet master. The rod puppet has elaborate costumes and are often adorned with jewelry.
