Hand woven baskets from the BaTonga tribe of Northern Zimbabwe are large flat baskets to carry and serve food. The women hand weave the baskets of Ilala palm fiber and decorate the baskets with dyes from the roots and bark of the Umnyi tree. The Tonga basket designs are traditional forms hand woven in a natural color palete.
